Apeiro Kitchen & Bar, a progressive Mediterranean cuisine is the newest project of chef/co-owner David Blonsky and iconic South Florida restaurateur Burt Rapoport. Apeiro, (Greek for “infinity”), features a contemporary menu inspired by the countries that make up the Mediterranean’s rich and diverse culinary culture. From Morocco and Italy to Greece and Portugal, the menu at Apeiro travels the Mediterranean. Showcasing the simple presentations and healthy, fresh ingredients the region is known for.
Beautiful light colors and open air seating offered relaxed intimate seating as we began our culinary journey. With Chef David at the helm our mouths watered with anticipation. The tender Grilled Spanish Octopus, simply grilled with crispy potato, red chile, celery, smoked pepper aioli was just perfect as was the APEIRO SPREADS platter of hummus, eggplant, caponata, irresistible pistachio yogurt and wood oven baked pita. Bunuelo with fig balsamic, prosciutto stracchino cheese and crispy dough ball burst with flavor while the creamy Burrata cheese plate consisted of cherry tomato jam, red cress and toasted ciabatta melted like butter. Delicate Filet Mignon Carpaccio is served with salsa verde, arugula salad and shaved manchego. Crispy Eggplant with tetilla cheese, grilled sweet peppers and pomegranate agro dolce was delicious and the Bar Harbor Mussels with saffron cream and oven-dried tomatoes was fragrant and luscious.
Salads, large enough to share, offer chilled Shaved Squash and Carrot salad with broccolini, roasted shallot, crumble goat cheese dressed with a cabernet vinaigrette, while the Smashed Beets combine local ricotta, pickled beets, baby arugula, candied walnuts are drizzled with truffle-beet vinaigrette. The Tuna Nicoise offers olive oil poached tuna, baby greens, fennel, green beans, olives, new potatoes, soft poached egg in mustard-caper vinaigrette as simply phenomenal.
Our entrée standouts included grilled Double Cut Duroc Pork Chop with apple mostarda and roasted carrots, as well as the delicious Whole Roasted Mediterranean branzino served with acqua pazzo and olive oil, and quinoa. Savory Baked Pastitsio with zucchini, eggplant, broccolini, kale and Kefalotyri cheese is comfort food at its finest and the Linguini is a perfect blend of white wine, forest mushrooms and truffle butter. Juicy Roasted Half Chicken is complimented with an herb-vinegar sauce, crispy feta potatoes and sweet peppers and the Roasted Lamb Chops with a fragrant rosemary lavender rub is served with tomato and butter bean baklava.
Selections of Kabobs offer something for every taste including Swordfish with salsa verde, charred onion mashed potatoes, zucchini and balsamic glazed cipollini onions or Spiced Lamb with tzatziki sauce, green onion and feta mashed potatoes a well as Vegetables with tomato vinaigrette, seasonal vegetables and quinoa salad. Crispy Flatbreads, large enough to share, feature Forest Mushroom with Parmesan cream, taleggio, truffle oil and parsley, Bianca with mozzarella, taleggio and fig balsamic and much more.
Along with our cappuccino we devoured our sweet ending of irresistibly sensational Citrus Olive Oil Cake with citrus panna cotta, meyer lemon jam, grilled strawberries, irresistible Bomboloni doughnuts are served warm with tubes of nutella chocolate, salted caramel and vanilla Bavarian cream to fill yourself. The amazing Wood-Oven Baked Apple Crostata is served with salted caramel sauce, toffee crumble, cinnamon gelato, and an apple chip while the decadent Peanut Butter and Chocolate is delicate layers of rich peanut butter mousse & chocolate cream, peanut butter crisp, torched marshmallow, chocolate cookie crumble.
