IT’S AMORE
Louie Bossi’s, located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, is known for their fresh pastas made in-house daily, salumi plates, Neopolitan-styled pizzas, dry-aged steaks, and handcrafted cocktails. As I sat at my table inside the restaurant, I couldn’t wait to dig into all of the renowned dishes. I was promptly greeted by my waiter, Andrea, and decided to start off with one of their popular cocktails, the Pimm-Cicletta: Hendricks gin, Pimm’s aperitivo, and fresh muddled strawberries and cucumbers. Andrea also brought freshly baked bread to the table as I looked over their impressive menu. Louie Bossi’s has a fun atmosphere with its al fresco Italian styled courtyard, which is decorated elegantly with a golden gazebo, a brick wall and vines.
ORA DI MANGIARE
I couldn’t resist ordering from the salumi, which is a grand assortment of cured meats and cheeses that included: finocchiona, picante, tartufo, soppressata, mortadella, coppa, dry-aged prosciutto di parma, tartufo, parmigiano reggiano vecchio, and gargonzola dolce cheeses all accompanied with a side of almonds, honey and dried figs. After finishing this delectable appetizer, I decided to have the Ferrazzuoli which is their tutti di mare, mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari, and san marsano sauce along with long pasta. I paired it with a red wine by Damilano, Lecinquevigne Barolo. Delizioso!
DOLCE VITA
Luckily, I saved some room for dessert! There were so many desserts to choose from, but I narrowed it down to the Italian Ice Cream Sundae. The sundae comes with three scoops of gelato: vanilla, chocolate and pistachio. It’s topped with pizzelle, chocolate, fruit, and whipped cream. This treat is full of flavor, has smooth texture, and finished with a crispy crunch from the pizzelle cookie. Louie Bossi’s is an amazing experience; from the appetizer, to the dessert, everything was delightful. I’ll be coming back for more! Grazie!
