Marion

JE NE SAIS QUOI
Marion is not just another Miami restaurant. It’s an experience, especially if one dines during the new Lobster Tuesdays. I attended the launch of the weekly affair and it was just as much as a party as Marion’s Thursday Soirées. Upon first entry, the classy French inspiration is apparent, with a mirror-backed bar, tones of emerald green and dazzling gold; marble mirrored columns, velvet banquettes, and vintage photographs. With typical Miami flair, there were party lights that changed color from red to purple and more, creating a sensuous ambiance. DJ Hush Money was also spinning tunes that created a lively environment.

LOVIN’ THE LOBSTER
As the title implies, during Lobster Tuesdays guests are treated to a special menu of carefully-perfected lobster delicacies. My first treat was the New England-Style Lobster Roll. Decadent, tender chunks of lobster were immersed in a mouthwatering, creamy mixture of brown butter, fresh mayo, celery, and chives. The generous portion of sweet lobster was nearly overflowing out of the crunchy roll and also came with a charred lemon and a side of delicious fries. Next up was the Lobster Mac and Cheese. While this dish is offered at many eateries, I truly have never enjoyed it the way I did at Marion. The mac and cheese and lobster were baked together in a simply tantalizing four cheese cream sauce that still has me dreaming about it.

SPARK-TACULAR DESSERT
Lastly, I savored the Strawberry Shortcake. It was served with Old-fashioned vanilla rum ice cream. I’m more of a chocolate lover but the tasty ice cream flavor had me charmed; the cake was also full of juicy, fresh strawberries and a pleasing spongy consistency. Perhaps the best part of the night arrived around 11 p.m., when the DJ kicked it up a notch and patrons began dancing at their tables. In true Miami party fashion, sparklers were handed out to really enliven the place. As I waved my sparkler to Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind,” I spotted Marion’s logo on the wall—a drawing of a woman’s face with a coy smile. She just knew that I would be back soon.
