Moxy Miami South Beach

THE BOUTIQUE HOTEL CHAIN, MOXY, HAS EXPANDED TO SOUTH FLORIDA, WITH A MIAMI BEACH LOCATION DEBUTING THIS MONTH. THE HIP HOTEL WILL FEATURE SIX FRESH AND EXCLUSIVE DINING AND DRINKING CONCEPTS, AS WELL AS A ROOFTOP MOVIE SCREENING ROOM AND A 72-FOOT, CABANA-LINED POOL.

South Beach will welcome a new hotel this month to ring in the new year: Moxy Miami South Beach. The boutique hotel chain has locations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, but this will be their first venture into the Sunshine State. The anticipated hotel has been developed by Lightstone, the developers behind three award-winning Moxy hotels in New York City. The six dining and drinking concepts will be helmed by the Miami restaurateurs behind the uber-popular Wynwood eateries, Coyo Taco and 1-800-Lucky.

The six concepts are going to be exciting additions to the Miami food scene, with innovative spots like Como Como, a marisquería (seafood) restaurant and raw bar; Mezcalista, a sexy mezcal lounge; Serena, an open-air rooftop restaurant and bar serving hand-crafted cocktails and seasonal dishes; Los Buenos, an all-day taco stand/bodega in the lobby, complemented by Bar Moxy, which does double duty as a social hub and contactless check-in area; and The Upside, a rooftop bar on the eighth floor with panoramic Miami Beach views, exclusively for hotel guests and private events.

“Miami offers such a rich vein of experiences that can only be found there,” says Mitchell Hochberg, Lightstone’s President. “Everything in Miami — the food, the art, the fashion, the nightlife — reflects the city’s diversity. We knew that in order to create restaurants and bars that attract a real intermingling of guests and locals, we would need to work with a partner that embraced the city’s colorful personality. We’re excited to partner with one of Miami’s most popular and successful restauranteurs to create concepts that are both innovative and authentically Miami.”

Besides the thrilling foodie options, the hotel has lots of other amenities and inclusions to bring to the table, like their 72-foot, cabana-lined pool; free fitness classes at their indoor/outdoor gym, free bikes to grab and explore SoBe, a ground floor courtyard that provides access to the restaurants and bars, and perhaps the main highlight: The Upside rooftop, where you can lounge in an alternative shallow pool as you watch movies at their outdoor movie screening room.

The 202-room, eight-story hotel will also have impressive in-room features like décor that taps into Miami hues, floor-to-ceiling windows, rain showers, and ingenious, space-maximizing storage solutions. Suites will include an L-shaped sofa, a bar cart, ocean views, walk-in rain showers, Smart TVs, and other amenities.
