Local Fun

Here are a few things to do this month! You can attend a performance and listen to tunes from the 60’s, stretch the stress away with yoga at the park, or take your little ones for some egg-hunting fun!

Get into the groove with Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, who were once an American folk-rock duo and one of the bestselling music groups of the 1960’s. This program traces Simon and Garfunkel’s success and blends dramatic visual effects with a live performance of their harmonious songs. Join Bill Bowen and Joan Friedenberg (the PinkSlip Duo), and sing along to your favorite songs, including “I Am a Rock,” “Cecilia,” “Sounds of Silence,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and many more at the Sunrise Civic Center Theater. Be sure to purchase your tickets to this show: Adults $18, and kids under 12 are $10.

It’s time to bring out your yoga mats, water bottle, and a towel to head on over to Liberty Tree Park to enjoy a free yoga session with instructor Emmy Slaibe. Liberty Tree Park is a popular green space with lots of trees, pathways, play equipment, and areas for picnicking in Plantation. All sessions begin at 9:00 a.m. All levels are welcome to participate, so whether you are a novice or expert this is the perfect time to begin. Come to the park and join the fun; breathe in the fresh air, and stretch for relaxation.

Apr. 20
westonfl.org

Get ready for some exciting egg hunting this year, at the Regional Park for Weston’s Royal Egg Hunt. They will hide over 30,000 candy filled eggs for children 10 and under. Come prepared by bringing your own basket or bag for egg collecting! There will also be a number of “golden” eggs that will get you an additional prize! It is recommended to arrive at the park by 9:15 a.m. and find the appropriate field for your child(ren) within baseball fields 1-4. After the egg hunt, the kids can take photos with the Royal Bunny and enjoy the bounce houses until noon.
